Nepal Emergency Flood Relief – Rasuwa, Trishuli & Bhote Koshi
On 26 August 2026, Nepal was struck by a catastrophic flash flood that swept through the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river valleys, causing devastating loss of life and widespread destruction. The disaster severely affected Rasuwa and downstream communities across Nuwakot and neighbouring districts, destroying homes, roads, bridges, businesses and vital infrastructure. The Government of Nepal immediately launched large-scale search, rescue and emergency relief operations.

The scale of this tragedy is heartbreaking. Entire communities have been covered by mud, rocks and debris, thousands of families have been displaced, and many people have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods. By 3 September, Nepalese authorities reported more than 1,200 confirmed deaths, over 4,200 people missing, and thousands of homes destroyed or made uninhabitable, while search and rescue operations continued.

The flood struck with extraordinary force through the Himalayan valleys. Investigations have linked the disaster to a major glacier collapse in the Nepal–Tibet border region, which sent a massive surge of ice, mud, rocks and water downstream. Communities along the river had very little time to escape.
Behind every statistic is a human story: parents searching for their children, children who have lost their homes, families waiting desperately for news of missing relatives, and survivors facing an uncertain future without shelter, food, clean water or basic necessities.
Why We Are Fundraising
Sandhurst Nepali Community UK is launching this humanitarian appeal to stand together with the people of Nepal during this extremely difficult time.

Although we live thousands of miles away in the United Kingdom, Nepal remains our motherland and the suffering of its people deeply affects our community.
We therefore invite our friends, families, local residents, community organisations, councillors, businesses and well-wishers across Sandhurst, Bracknell Forest and the wider UK community to join us in showing compassion and solidarity.
No contribution is too small. A donation of £5, £10, £20 or whatever you are able to give becomes meaningful when we come together as one community.
Where Will the Money Go?
Our intention is that 100% of the net funds received through this appeal will be transferred to the official Government of Nepal Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund, following verification of the appropriate official transfer arrangements.

The Government of Nepal has formally appealed to individuals, organisations and institutions for financial assistance to support emergency relief, the movement of survivors to safe locations and the longer-term rehabilitation of communities devastated by the flood.
Sandhurst Nepali Community UK will maintain full transparency and accountability. A complete record of funds raised and transferred, together with supporting evidence, will be maintained and made available to our community and relevant local councils.
Please Stand With Nepal 🇳🇵
Today, families in Rasuwa, Trishuli, Bhote Koshi and surrounding areas need our compassion and support.
Please donate whatever you can and share this GoFundMe appeal with your family, friends, colleagues and community networks.

Together, even a small contribution from each of us can become meaningful support for families who have lost almost everything.
Let us stand together for Nepal.
Let us stand together for humanity. 🙏🇳🇵
With sincere gratitude,
